Dear Eden Prairie Residents,
Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Andrew Moller! I am a Minnesota native and a 33-year resident of Eden Prairie. I am a candidate for the Eden Prairie City Council and would be honored to have your support on Election Day - Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
The City Council needs an enterprising leader who is accountable, innovative, and committed to the property tax payer in keeping government costs low while providing essential services that we all enjoy. For a further discussion on my ideas to reduce taxes, please click on the Priorities tab.
My 30 years of private sector finance experience, including a decade as Chief Financial Officer of Christopher & Banks Corporation, will be put to work for Eden Prairie taxpayers. The current City Council relies too heavily on staff for budget review and oversight, and this needs to change. Eden Prairie no longer has a Citizen Budget Advisory Committee and needs someone with financial expertise on the City Council.
Maintaining and upgrading our City's infrastructure is one of the Eden Prairie City Government's primary responsibilities. In 1987, during a 10-inch rainstorm, a city storm sewer that ran through my backyard collapsed. This resulted in significant erosion of the hill in my yard. Due to tight budgets at the time, almost a full year passed before the City was able to make the necessary repairs. In 2014, a city storm sewer running through the backyard of a house on Burr Ridge Lane collapsed. The house was immediately condemned and the City spent $2.5 million to repair the washed out hillside. Preventive maintenance of our city infrastructure is an essential City function that must be performed to avoid another costly storm sewer failure.
I strongly support term limits for Eden Prairie elected officials. Three 4-year terms should be enough for the Mayor and City Council to accomplish their objectives. Term limits allow for fresh perspectives and more citizen involvement.
I will work diligently to restore the people's confidence and trust in a responsive government that works for them. I am running as a candidate for City Council for the right reasons, right now!
Thank you for your support and your vote on November 6th.
